Blemmading A-Ding-Ding!
The picture above contains a few mythical creatures known as Blemmadings (or Blemmyae). Following the "mythology is real" rule, when I say "mythical" I really mean "real" - possibly even, more real than the reality of common-sense. They were very real to the Romans on the left side of the picture. It appears to be a drawing of Blemmadings paying tribute to some soldiers from ancient Rome. But there's no fucking way Blemmadings would pay anything but death to beings with heads. They hate beings that have heads. Therefore, it was a trap, an unlikely peace offering or tribute set by the Blemmadings to lure some Romans to a gruesome death. The Blemmadings would then devour their victims during a horrific ritual that lies beyond our mere human capacity to comprehend.
This picture, however, could not possibly have been drawn by a human being. It was drawn by a Blemmading as a means of luring in Romans. It's extremely unlikely that Roman centurions would approach these beings with their hands out. They would have spears at the ready, and with swords and shields in fighting position.
I don't know if the trick worked, as no Roman who encountered such beings would live to tell the tale.
